Training that Complements Your Specialty
Basic Training Opportunities
In the April 2004 edition of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal, the ASPS Committee on Patient Safety issued an advisory titled "Practice Advisory on Liposuction." It was created to provide surgeons interested in performing liposuction a strategy to follow for patient management and appropriate clinical decision making.
This advisory recommends that physicians only perform lipoplasty in their anatomical area of expertise and attend a CME-accredited lipoplasty course with at least three hours of hands-on training.
There are several independent, third-party training companies that provide courses designed for physicians with no previous liposuction experience.
VASER®-Specific Training Opportunities
The following training companies provide didactic and hands-on training for the VASER Lipo® procedure. Please contact the Clinical Education department at 888-471-4777 for more information on these and other VASER-specific training course options.
