SOUND SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIES’ CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER NAMED A FELLOW OF THE ACOUSTICAL SOCIETY OF AMERICA
Louisville, CO – Dr. Mark E. Schafer, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer at Sound Surgical Technologies LLC and internationally recognized expert in ultrasonic devices, has been named a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America for his contributions to ultrasound measurement technology. The presentation took place at the 161st Meeting in Seattle, WA. The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) was founded in 1929 to increase and diffuse the knowledge of acoustics and promote its practical applications. It is the largest such organization in the world devoted to the science of sound. In addition to receiving his Fellow honor, Dr. Schafer also presented an invited lecture on ultrasound measurement technology, and on mechanisms of action for ultrasound surgical devices. Dr. Schafer joined Sound Surgical Technologies in August 2008, and has since been instrumental in the development of new ultrasonic devices and applications in the field of medical aesthetics.
