SOUND SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIES’ CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER PRESENTS AT ULTRASOUND INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING
Louisville, CO – Dr. Mark Schafer, PhD, FAIUM FASA, Chief Technology Officer of Sound Surgical Technologies LLC, recently presented at the 41st Annual Meeting of the Ultrasound Industry Association that was held on April 16-18, 2012 in San Francisco, CA.
The presentation entitled, “Invasive/Non-invasive Ultrasound Effects on Adipocytes and Adipose-Derived Stem Cells,” reviewed recent clinical and preclinical data of the VASER Lipo® and VASER® Shape Systems. The VASER Lipo data unequivocally demonstrated high viability and availability of aspirated adipocytes and Adipose-Derived Regenerative Cells. The VASER Shape pre-clinical data indicated that the aesthetic treatment causes adipocytes to release lipids, which migrate to the lymphatic system. The findings highlighted the unique capabilities of ultrasound technology as applied to the aesthetic market.
