The presentation entitled, “Invasive/Non-invasive Ultrasound Effects on Adipocytes and Adipose-Derived Stem Cells,” reviewed recent clinical and preclinical data of the VASER Lipo^® and VASER^® Shape Systems. The VASER Lipo data unequivocally demonstrated high viability and availability of aspirated adipocytes and Adipose-Derived Regenerative Cells. The VASER Shape pre-clinical data indicated that the aesthetic treatment causes adipocytes to release lipids, which migrate to the lymphatic system. The findings highlighted the unique capabilities of ultrasound technology as applied to the aesthetic market.

During the Annual Meeting, Dr. Schafer also served as a forum Panel Member discussing Food and Drug Administration regulation of ultrasound devices and current trends in regulatory submissions.

Sophie told the Gazette: “It’s about me going to visit real people, not skinny people and not overweight people, just normal people who are going to extreme efforts to lose weight.
