SOUND SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIES’ CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER IS NAMED A FELLOW OF THE ACOUSTICAL SOCIETY OF AMERICA

Louisville, CO – Dr. Mark E. Schafer, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer at Sound Surgical Technologies LLC and internationally recognized expert in ultrasonic devices, has been named a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America for his contributions to ultrasound measurement technology. The presentation took place today at the 2nd Pan-American/Iberian Meeting on Acoustics in Cancun, Mexico. The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) was founded in 1929 to increase and diffuse the knowledge of acoustics and promote its practical applications. It is the largest such organization in the world devoted to the science of sound. Dr. Schafer joined Sound Surgical Technologies in August 2008, and has since been instrumental in the development of new ultrasonic devices and applications in the field of medical aesthetics.

Research Reveals VASER Lipo® Yields Fat as Viable As Conventional Liposuction –

Louisville, CO – According to a recent study conducted at the University of Pittsburgh, human fat harvested by VASER ultrasound-assisted liposuction (Sound Surgical Technologies LLC), is as viable as fat collected by conventional suction assisted liposuction, with nearly 80% volume retention.

The study, led by Dr. J. Peter Rubin, Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, is the first research to establish strong support for VASER Lipo as a collection method of choice for fat transfer procedures.
